Why we’re doing this
Somewhere tonight, a ninth-grader is deciding she’s “just not smart.” She’s wrong — the lesson just moved on without her. The class kept going, and nobody had time to notice where she got lost. Do that to a kid enough times, and she stops raising her hand — for good.
And it’s happening everywhere: nearly half of America’s high-school seniors now score below the basic level in math. That isn’t millions of lazy kids. It’s a system that can’t bend to the child in front of it.
In 2024, 45% of U.S. 12th graders scored below NAEP Basic in math (NCES, The Nation’s Report Card, Sept. 2025).
We believe every child deserves what only the luckiest ever get — a great teacher with all the time in the world.
How Olamis is different — four promises
A lot of AI asks you to just trust it. Olamis is built so you can check.
- Permission first — nothing happens with a child’s information unless a parent or guardian says yes.
- A person decides — the program suggests; the teacher, or you, decides. It never overrules a human.
- No machine grades — it never shows a child a score, rank, or label; any number about a child stays on the teacher’s side. Judgment comes from a person who knows them.
- Nothing hidden — you can ask “why did it do that?” and get a plain-English answer.

We built the trust and safety first, before touching a single real child’s data. That order is the whole point.
