Every child deserves what only the luckiest ever get: one great teacher with all the time in the world. That is the belief Olamis is built on.
Nearly half of America’s high-school seniors now score below the basic level in math. That is not millions of lazy kids. It is a system that cannot bend to the child in front of it.
One teacher with thirty students cannot notice every child who quietly gets lost, or has already mastered it and is bored and disengaged. No matter how good they are, they have finite capacity, and the 80% in the middle can’t be sacrificed for the 10% that are behind or that are ahead. That is the problem we are trying to solve.
Olamis bends to the child. It meets a student where they are, reshapes the lesson to fit how they learn, and lets them move on only when they have truly got it — the one-on-one attention no teacher can give thirty kids at once. And it keeps a real person in charge the whole way.
